Recipes for Czech kolaches vary from region to region. However, the core ingredients remain the same - yeast dough, quark or poppy seeds, seasonal fruit, and delicious buttery crumb.
In Czechia, people eat kolaches mainly during the weekend. However, why not to enjoy them anytime during the week?:) If you don't find an open slot, don't hesitate to write me - I can open a slot just for you, I am flexible:)
Program schedule:
We will gather in the lovely kitchen in the heart of the Old Town, just above the famous Michelin restaurant La Degustation. I will guide you through the whole baking process, so no need to worry if you are new to baking ;) You will make the quark filling, knead the crumb, taste homemade jams and of course, I will teach you how to make the dough and shape the kolaches. Finally, we'll eat our creations (warm are just the best!) with a cup of tea or specialty coffee from nearby coffee place Onesip :) ...and if you don't eat them all, you'll receive a box full of delicious kolaches for tomorrow:)
The whole baking experience lasts 2-2.5h, and it's great for groups up to 5 people. Families with children are welcome as well!
You don't need to bring anything, all ingredients and equipment are provided for you.
