North Narra has a range of attractions: a rock pool, an ocean pool, a lagoon with impressive sand dunes with an effective sand stabilisation vegetation program - as well as huge expanses of water and sand. The strip of sand connecting Narrabeen Beach to Collaroy at the south is actually 4km long. It is home to 4 surf clubs. Narrabeen was the name of the local aboriginal chief’s daughter (c. 1840s) and Collaroy was named for the ship which was wrecked there on nearby Long Reef.
